Emma Fritzsche

Emma Fritzsche, 91 of Owosso and Mackinac Island passed away late Friday evening, August 15 at the home of her daughter, Paula Starkweather on Mackinac Island. She was born June 28,1923 in Lansing to August and Martha (Muller) Sonnenberg..  She was an active homemaker and  spent the past 17 summers  on Mackinac at the home of her daughter, and son in law, Paula and Craig Starkweather.  She  loved traveling and had visited Germany several times. She was a expert seamstress; and an avid Spartan fan , Michigan State University. She also traveled to Hawaii, and St.Lucia with family. She loved the Island. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Owosso and, VFW Auxiliary in Owosso. Her husband Arnold Fritzsche died on July 12,1998.
She is survived by a son, Dale (Sue Borough) Fritzsche of Haslett; daughters, Janet (Paul) Shackelford, of Silverthorne, California; and Paula (Craig) Starkweather. Mackinac Island;three grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in early September with burial in Deepdale Cemetery, in Lansing.Dodson Funeral Home of ST.Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.
