Frank A. Beaudoin Sr.  86 of St.Ignace passed away early Tuesday morning, November 18 in his sleep at home. He was born September 16,1928 in Caffey, one of 8 children born to Oliver James and Anne Marie (Knopp) Beaudoin. He graduated from Rudyard High School after attending  Trout Lake School through the 10th grade. He entered the U.S.Airforce and  spent 4 years at Harmon Field, Newfoundland and 4 years at Tinker Field near Lawton, Oklahoma. He also did a stretch at Kincheloe Air Force Base in Kincheloe. Mi. He was a Meteoroligist, and later attended school for heating and air conditioning at Northern Michigan University. He met Weldon Chatelle while walking down State street, and he talked him into helping with a printing press at the Republican News, and career that started a 35 year long relationship. The paper was hand set at that time, and they printed 2000 papers on a 4 page flat bed press. Then there were envelopes, letterheads, business cards, wedding invitations, and other printing needs. He had planned to reenlist in the Air Force, but a job kept him busy and he had just got married to Barbara (Powers), and they had a growing family of 8 children. Frank stayed with the newspaper through the continued changes of ownership, through to The St.Ignace News owned by the Mauer family. He had an appetite for seeng new places as he joined the Air Force, and always wanted to go to Alaska . He married Barbara Powers  on June 25,1955  in Trout Lake; at St..Marys Catholic Church and she died on March 18, 2002. He was a member of The Moose Lodge #999; St.Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and the St.Ignace VFW Post. He was an avid fisherman, especially salmon.

 He is survived by his family;  John, St.Ignace; Brian of Traverse City; Michael , St.Ignace; Neil in St.Ignace; Denise (Bill) Belt, Lansing; Cindy( Pete) Giovenco, Washington, N.J.; 13 grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death besides his  wife by sons, Frank Jr, and Clifford, brothers, Neil, David; Raymond; Wilfred; Robert, sisters, Edith Hackett; and Ethel Utter, and a nephew Brian Mark Beaudoin.  

Funeral services are Saturday, November 22 at 11 am at Dodson Funeral Home with Fr. Pawel Mecwel officiating. Visitation will be  Friday from 5 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Gros Cap Cemetery  later.. Dodson Funeral Home handled arrangements.

God Bless you all, and may he bring you peace and comfort in your time of loss. Pops was an amazing man and will be truly missed by MANY!! Very loving and giving of himself to others...I am with you all in spirit in wishing I could be there with everyone to help in the celebration of his glorious days on this earth.
