James Otto Sayles
Died: Sunday, March 15, 2015
James Otto Sayles, 70 of Moran passed away Sunday, March 15 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. He was born in St.Ignace on November 4,1944 tp James W. and Elsie (Shimkovitz) Sayles.  He graduated from Rudyard High School, and served in the U.S Navy.  He lived in Racine,Wisconsin many years, and retired as a machinist from Scanomatic in Racine in 2003. He loved to deer hunt and fish  and moved back to Brevort Lake Road in Moran after retirement. He worked for Seldons Marathon; the Do It Center; and the State Park. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #999; St..Ignace VFW, and active member of Brevort Township Fire Dept. He is one of the 12 Sayles Children from Moran.

On October 22,1988 he married Kathy Pfeilstifter in Racine, and she survives.His  daughter, Katlynn Sayles and her fiance, Nathaniel Cartagena, both Racine; step daugher and husband, Sarah and Jeff Bedggood, St.Marys Ontario; brothers, Mike in Illinois; Gary and Marsha in Racine; Steve and Vicki in Moran; Leroy and Lisa in Moran; David in St.Ignace; 6 sisters,  Joyce and Conrad Captain, South Boardman; Veronica Sayles, Comstock Park; Debra Ferguson ,Moran;; Cheryl and Paul Amacher, Moran; Cecelia and Matt Mattson, Moran; and Mary and Mike Nixson, Fife Lake; and a  stepgranddaughter Sylvia Noelle Bedggood;. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister in law, Sonya Sayles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday,  April 8 at 11 am at St.Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church with Fr. Pawel Mecwel officiating.  Burial of his ashes will be in Racine,Wisc. at a later date. Dodson Funeral Home, St.Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.

A luncheon will be served at the Moose Lodge following services.
