She graduated from LaSalle High School in 1978, and continued her education at Michigan State University. Mary Ann married Michael McCarthy and moved to Flint, MI, where she raised her four children. She loved being a mom and being active in her kids’ education and activities. She volunteered as a coach, chaperone, and baker extraordinaire for many years at St. John Vianney Catholic school and parish in Flint.

Mary Ann relocated to St. Ignace to be closer to her family and has been active as an Elder in the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She enjoyed hunting, cooking, baking, and especially playing card games and Yahtzee with her family and friends. Mary Ann made friends wherever she went and always had a story to tell. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her.

She is survived by her children, Pamela, Andrew, Christina, and Kelly (Nick); parents, Louis and Phyllis; siblings, Bob (Diane) and Kay (Mark); 25 nieces and nephews; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Ronald Colegrove and Gerald Colegrove; two nephews, John Paul Brown and Louie Brown; and her grandparents, Ralph Sr., and Betty Colegrove, and Antoine and Gladys Moses.

Those wishing to make contributions in honor of Mary Ann may send them to St. John Vianney Catholic School in Flint.
