Richard D. Marshall, always known as Dick Marshall passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, Sept 21 at Evergreen Living Center surrounded by a loving family. Dick was born March 23,1948 in Moran to August and Roseanna (Beauregard) Marshall. He graduated from Rudyard High School in 1966, and worked for the Huyck family for 43 years as an Auto Body Repairman. He has been ill for 9 years, most recently for 9 months seriously. He loved hunting, and survived a hunting accident in 1979 when he was shot in the leg, almost losing his life. He was a member of Moose Lodge #999, and was a coach for Little League when his boys were young. He was very supportive of whatever his boys and grandchildren were active in doing., especially sports. Dick was well known for his painting expertise and excellent body work.

He married Linda Spencley on Feb. 4,1967 at the Gros Cap Church and was the last wedding at the church. Linda survives. also 4 boys and families;Richard and Beth of Gaylord; Michael and Kristine of Rockford; Christopher  "Iffer" and Jennifer of St.Ignace; Jason and Brittany Dykstra of Bowling Green,KY; brothers, Clifford & Delores, St.Ignace; Robert and Crystal, St.Ignace; Raymond and Patty Batchelder of St.Ignace; James and Charlotte of St.Ignace; sisters, Marie and Jack Baker, Saginaw; Bernice and Stanley Bickham, St.Ignace; Gloria Marshall, St.Ignace; grandchildren, Landon, Leah, Mallory, Drew, Zachary, and Reid., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents, a grandson, Keenan Marshall; 3 brothers, Louis, Leonard and Edward, and a sister, Edna St.Louis.

Friends may call at Dodson Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 23 from 4 to 8 pm with parish prayers at 8 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 24 at St.Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church at 11 am with Fr. Pawel Mecwel and Fr.. Norbert B. Landreville  officiating. Burial will be in Gros Cap Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the special athletic fund for kids who cannot afford to play sports because of the cost, and this fund will pay for those " pay for play."Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
